English Paper Piecing Sew Along – Easter Theme – 1st April

English Paper Piecing Sew Along – Easter Themed – 1st April 1:30pm to 4:30pm, 8 Kingsway CO12 3AG

English Paper Piecing (EPP) is a form of quilting typically handstitched. It involves cutting fabric around a paper or thin card template, forming a shape (they can be square, diamond, hexagon, or many more, this time we will be creating flowers from a selection of shapes), and stitching together to form a patterned quilt top.

In this workshop we will work on creating flowers which you can use to create a quilt, applique onto a tote, cushion cover or more – we will explore ideas. It is simple, but effective, and we can work through it together.

What’s included?

All of your materials including:

A selection of Fabrics to choose from

If you would like the materials to complete the end project for what you want your flowers to go on, you can buy these from the shop, we have wadding and plenty of fabrics and notions to choose from!

During our 3 hours together I will go through a brief history of EPP, show some beautiful examples of what can be achieved with EPP, and go through the process of our pattern. A print out of this process will also be given out as we may not finish the project before the 3 hours is up, however EPP is a fantastic slow sewing project that can be done anywhere from watching telly in the evening to sitting in the car on a roadtrip!

You can bring your EPP back to one of our sewcials and I can help with any next steps there too.

Tea, Coffee, Cold drinks and Biscuits will of course be available.

A ramp is available if required however our toilet facilities are located upstairs, please bear this in mind.

Scissors, rotary cutters, pins, spare needles and threads will all be available in the shop if you do not have your own.

Tickets are £20 for the full 3 hours, and includes fabric, templates and thread. Book online via the website or in store.
